Slow Down- Week 5

We all have those weeks where we wish time could slow down, or that we would have more time in our schedules to get things done. This week I was wishing for time to slow down and for more time in general. Even with a snow day, and a half day to the end the week my to-do list is still growing rather than downsizing. However, I am still driven to come to school everyday!

My students drive me to want to come to school everyday. They drive me to face my to-do list that feels never ending. My students drive me to never give up because they believe in me. Hearing students say "Ms. Wasson you're awesome." or "Ms. Wasson will you be at the wrestling match tonight? Will you be at the dance this weekend?" The little things my students ask, or say makes the stress of my to-do list worth it.

In just five weeks I have gained a family at Cowanesque Valley High School. The students in the agriculture department have impacted my life in a positive way. Every week and everyday is not going to be perfect throughout this experience. But, I know I have a great support system. Time is flying by quickly, and I am still wishing for a slow down.

  1. Thank you for sharing Heather. I would like to hear more about how your teaching philosophy and pedagogical skills are growing and developing. I would like to see you "swim a littler deeper" into the reflection pool!

  2. Heather, so glad you have found a sense of belonging and purpose at Cowasnesque. Can you share a little bit more about your classroom experiences from this past week? What were some gems and opps?
